Below are a few of the calendars Adele posed for . . .
Adele by Earl Moran
Adele worked for Earl Moran for many years. In one Brown and Biglow calendar she was ten of the twelve months. Adele has a photograph of her standing with Earl Moran, with this calendar in blue on his easel.
All Earl Moran art shown here is copyrighted material. Please do not copy, download or use them. If you watch ebay or Mop Pinups you will see them from time to time for sale from salesmen's samples or other resources such as auctions. Please read the history of Earl Moran, a top calendar artist of the past with his original art bringing higher and higher prices.
Below is copy picked up under one of the many Malibu Mermaid movies. At this time in mid July 2010 there have been 4,130,000 hits on the internet for Malibu Mermaid; it would be a reasonable guess that over three million of them have been for Adele's movie. And . . . many of the others got themselves known using the popularity of this movie MALIBU MERMAID. A year ago I do not remember seeing a clothing business Adele Dolman running next to the Malibu Mermaid movie staring Adele Dolman. Many have also picked up at least one of her paid for domain names and placed it inside copy for a draw into their site. Below is the best copy I've seen written that describes Adele Dolman and the movie MALIBU MERMAID.
Adele Doleman, who is otherwise unknown, stars in a two & a half minute "nudie cutie" titled Malibu Mermaid (1950s). She's a beautiful blond in bikini seated on beach, filmed in black & white, playing with her hair, squinting into the sun, laughing, pulling her bathing suit top up as it becomes a bit revealing & waves of the ocean get her soaking wet.
There are well photographed shots of her shapely legs, as well as considerable appreciation of her smile, & a couple nice close-ups of her feet for the foot-fetishists in the adult arcade or the home projection market of the '50s.
As I write this review in 2007, this film at Prelinger Archive alone has been downloaded nearly 30,000 times. Many films at the Archive are downloaded only a dozen times or not even once, so this is a popular little item, plus it's been posted at scads of other websites & at youtube as well.
It's interesting that people will see in a film of this kind whatever they need to see. One web server removed it for violation of terms of agreement -- the server does not allow pornography -- but it's the most innocent film imaginable. One commentator says it is a variation of the striptease in which the ocean waves remove a girl's clothing, which the ocean never does.
Another commentary says more accurately that it's a nice portrait of a perfect dreamed-of girl-next-door. Another commentator is not so inclined to see a nice girl & just calls her a "hot blonde babe" which seems not an unreasonable assessment. But a description elsewhere nonsensically calls her "kinky & decadent," suggesting to me that such innocent nudie cutie films could be used by psychologists to assess the degree of viewers' misogyny.
Another website describes Malibu Mermaid as an "amateur" film, yet many of the producers of these panoram & home-market short-shorts worked out of Los Angeles & these producers always hired union photographers. To me, for all its minimalism & cheap production, it looks like professional photography.
It's no more risque than any good looking young woman might like to have of herself at the beach. The nudie-cutie genre was only occasionally this artfully filmed, & the idea that she's a mermaid sitting in the wave-struck rocks is genuinely developed as an interplay of woman & nature, despite that the point is to get her bathing suit wet.
PLEASE NOTE - I was curious about who wrote this copy and followed to the nice garden and other surprises at www.paghat.com., to learn more about the writer . . . and granny. The above review was only one of hundreds written by a person who does a lot of movie watching, and has the website to prove it, showing her long list of reviews.
Like A Mermaid
The real Malibu Mermaid, Adele, was not bothered with the cold water of Malibu when her movie was photographed. She grew up in the north and was the only one in her group who stayed in the water swimming when there was ice floating around. Near the end of the Malibu Mermaid movie Adele was holding her face up toward the sun for enjoyment. From where she came from, you did not always get such a nice benefit to enjoy.
Adele by Max Audrey
This photography was from a beautiful book created at the Long Beach College for a project about Max Audrey. He was a famous Hollywood photographer who photographed many of the famous movie stars. This photograph of Adele by Max was listed in the beautiful book as being on loan from the Laguna Art Museum

Adele was on many magazine covers as an illustration but she didn't keep any copies for herself.
At any time there are calendars of Adele selling on ebay. Many are listed as MM, but they are Adele. The Barbecue photograph with the calendar here is on the internet and has been in many books, including "The Great American Pin-Ups".
The photograph's title says "Earl Moran and model."
Copies of these full color calendars of Adele where on ebay this month for sale. If you type in Earl Moran you can go down his long line of work and find them.
Moran's wife was also one of his models His originals are starting to sell at higher and higher prices on open auction.
